If you are looking for piercing power the MAG3836⢠is a favorite among repair personnel and scrappers alike. Our exothermic plasma flame tubes are often referred to as hand held particle accelerators because of their ability to cut, gouge, wash, shape and more. They are useful for piercing long equipment pins. A 24â pin can be pierced and shrunk for removal in as little as 10 minutes (2 cutting tubes). Consider using a tube extender that comes in both 18" and 36" lengths to gain additional distance from the burn zone. This is particularly useful during challenging piercing situations. Convenient flame tube extender for additional reach comes in both 18" or 36" lengths.
Magnum's particle stream provides 10,000 degrees of cutting power to melt through anything, including stainless steel, cast iron, manganese, hard-facing, and even rocks. No preheating means a small HAZ (heat affected zone) This frequently translates into less problems with post metal fatigue. If you have ever cut a plate, re-welded it and had the plate crack next to the welds, you have experienced heat fatigue. This is why it is recommended that welds be stress relieved after plate cutting so as to relieve the internal pressures that have built up because of softening the surrounding metal with oxyacetylene gas. This is not a problem with our flame tubes which burn so hot and cut so fast there is actually less heat introduced into the material. Amazing but true.

Merely press the tube against the steel and push. The flame does the rest. This process is quite handy for piercing through equipment pins.

When piercing through thick materials like equipment pins, rocks or fire brick, a flame tube using an extender provides some distance from the operator to the burn zone. This distance keeps the blowback away from the operator and makes the pierce far more convenient. Horizontal pierces allow the magma to escape through the back side of the hole using gravity. A slow steady piece ensures a straight hole which is mandatory if piercing heavy equipment pins where collateral damage must be prevented. Tube extenders also allow for line of sight making it easier to keep the tube in the center of the hole.Â
For 15 years Magnum has been providing cutting rods that cut longer with less sparks than a traditional cutting rods. The tubes have been deployed in every conceivable industrial setting. Our cutting tubes are also used in emergency rescue and tactical situations for breaching contingencies.Â
Flame tubes are unique in that they cannot function separate from the system. Steel tubes are straightened and micro-coated to resist corrosion. They are subsequently filled with solid fuel spokes that can only combust in the presence of pure oxygen and an initial catalytic spark. Thus, flame tubes are quite safe and reliable.Â
The outer tube and inner fuel are configured so that the inner fuel conforms to the inside of the tube in a corolla fashion so that a carburetor hole remains. Crimps hold the solid fuel spokes in position. The overall result provides a consistent burn for smooth cutting, gouging and piercing.Â
Flame tubes fit into the torch head against a rubber washer. They are held in place by virtue of a brass collet. The arrangement is designed so as to prevent head leaks. Oxygen flows through the tube. A spark ignites the tip of the tube and inner fuel. Once ignited, no additional spark is required. The tube will continue to burn so long as oxygen pressure of ten pounds or more is present.Â
A 2" recess in the rear of the flame tube ensures the flame will extinguish as it nears the torch head. This safety recess prevents flashbacks. Flame tubes are ideal for repair, maintenance and situations where speed of cutting is important.
An example of a .375" cutting tube using oxygen as the sole gas to easily cut through 2" of plate. See the video for more examples. It takes a mere 12 volt spark to ignite a flame tube. Once ignited, the flame tubes burn without additional spark so long as positive oxygen flow is present. Flame tubes can burn with as little pressure as 15 pounds of oxygen for sheet metal. When oxygen pressure is increased, the flame length is also increased. High oxygen pressure can burn a hole through solid rock. When rocks get stuck in crushers, this is the handy tool to pierce and fragment such boulders to get production going again.

MAG3626⢠26 amp hour 36 volt welder

The portable unit yields incredible welding power by virtue of its three 12 volt Osyssey® 26 amp hour dry cell batteries wired professionally to balance the load and provide the essential impetus to drive virtually any 3/32" or 1/8" electrode. Even .750 plate can be welded using this unit when the plate is properly beveled. Swapping the cables changes the welding polarity. This unit ships with a heavy duty ground clamp and 400 amp stinger handle.

Specify longer cables for underwater ignition and welding. Having a DC welder on hand is essential for civil defense, tactical response, emergency response, or any form of emergency repair and maintenance assignment where portability and dependable power are required.

Ac welders merely convert current to DC for the majority of welding with exception of TIG. Going straight to DC eliminates transformers, rectifiers, diods and more. The result is a portable welder with size selectable batteries that welds with minimal sticking. The polarity is reversed by switching the cables.

- 7018 yields better appearance, penetration and strength.
- Root passes use 6010 rod with cap beads using 7018.
- 7024 rods are "drag rods" capable of automatically maintaining the correct arc length due to thick flux, making it a favorite among repair and maintenance professionals.

MAG9003⢠three cylinder amphibian cutting system.
Introducing a pioneering breakthrough and the first of its kind. Over an hour of underwater cutting and almost two hours of land cutting from a single portable system. Remote control is the key. Operators control ignition via a button switch atop the ground clamp for the ultimate multi-tasking asset capable of cutting, gouging, piercing and even welding. Statistically, most underwater repairs are performed in less than twenty feet of water which falls well within the reach of the fifty foot of umbilical that ships with the system. As part of its integrated design, the new portable system not only performs from a solid platform, it also suffices as a flotation device in emergency circumstances.
Use the system for underwater repair, maintenance, salvage and scrap. For utility, the cylinders boast standard CGA540 fill valves for rapid filling at standard oxygen service locations. Each system ships completely operational once the oxygen cylinders are filled at a local welding gas supplier like Airgas or Air Liquide. Fifty cutting rods are included with the system which provide a significant cutting yield. For those situations when a welding machine is not practical, the unit can also double as a spot welder. Repair shafts, spot weld plates, fabricate brackets and much more.

A precision brass manifold connects all three cylinders for single use or multiple cylinder use, yielding over an hour of cutting. A remote solenoid activated ignition switch allows operator to close a topside switch for underwater ignition of flame cutting tubes. The 24 volt ignition boasts two Odyssey® 26 amp dry cell batteries for efficient underwater igniton. A new feature is the button switch atop the ground clamp. If a suitable ground is not found on the work material, a scratch plate a top the ground allows for efficient ignition. The entire unit is encased in a Pelican® case that can be carried or rolled to the work area.
