NEW 36 volt ignition/welder

Dual purpose power source for land or underwater cutting and welding.

MAG3626™ is Magnum's latest development encompasses a 36 volt dry cell ignition system fited into a heavy duty Pelican roller case. Research has shown 36 volts is the ideal voltage for welding. Therefore, we developed a system with three 26 amp hour Odyssey® batteries wired in series to achieve 36 volts. Odyssey® batteries are built in the U.S. and have a reputation for providng ten years of service, far more than standard batteries due to their thicker plates and insulation between plates.

The side cable connectors are heavy 500 amp twist style. The switch is heavy duty and built for thousands of cycles. The digital voltmeter is short protected. To change polarity in cases of overhead welding, merely swap the cables. A heavy duty inline fuse protects the unit from damage. The unit is turnkey and comes with the necessary cables for both oxyflame ignition and welding.

The unit functions in the vertical take off position or in the horizontal position. The batteries are all position. A convenient telescopic handle allows the unit to be maneuvered about the job site. Pelican® cases are popular with the military for their durability and reliability in rough field conditions. Battery connections are made from pure copper and the cables are tinned pinned and covered with glue lined shrink tube. All connections are coated with Dielectric® grease. The 36 volt charger is fused and conveniently connects to the respective port.

24 volt ignition ships standard with our MAG9003™

The MAG0024™ is another innovation taking two powerful 26 amp hour dry cell Odyssey® batteries and configuring them into a Pelican® case for ultimate power and utility. The unit provides cam lock adapters for cables and charging.

Ships with:

  • Deluxe power base station.
  • Cable whip ignition for igniting Magnum cutting torches.
  • Fully automatic float charger.
  • Solenoid powered remote controlled ignition terminates at the ground clamp.
  • Shipping weight: 85 lbs.

The newly developed ground clamp button switch allows the operator to make the ground clamp live for igniting oxyflame tubes on land or underwater. If the material is not groundable, the scratch plate on the ground clamp allows ignition. This is particularly useful in rusty underwater conditions. Pressing the button switch closes the solenoid on the land based unit. We include fifty foot of umbilical and can add length upon request for deeper cutting assignments. Voltage is monitored via a waterproof, reverse polarity proof, battery fuel gauge indicating the real time charge of the system. Plugging the float charger into its respective socket initiates charging and maintains healthy batteries when the base station is not in use.

12 VOLT ignition ships standard with our MAG9000™ system

Our MAG0021™ displays a 12 volt 18 amp hour Odyssey® battery to power our portable ignition and is guaranteed to provide well over 100 ignitions between charges. The unit displays 500 amp cable connectors, a heavy duty throw switch and a volt gauge to monitor the charging state of the batteries. A float charger easily plugs into its respective port to keep the batteries fresh when not in use. Like our other units, components are built into a heavy duty Pelican® case.
