More oxygen, more cutting, less weight!

Two cylinders will provide the cutting power of a standard industrial K bottle of 256 cubic feet with a lot less bulk. Rather than heft a heavy steel cylinder of oxygen to and around the worksite, enjoy the power without the weight. Our cylinders are extremely lightweight. Two cylinders weigh 19 lbs. Compare that with a 100 pound steel cylinder and the benefits are undeniable. Composite cylinders can easily be maneuvered about the worksite for true portability. Lightweight cylinders allow the power of a ten-thousand degree particle stream to be focused on the material. Operators can forget bulky, heavy equipment that impedes repair and maintenance assignments. Composite technology allows Magnum to produce the lightest and most powerful cutting systems in the world.

Our new DOT certified composite cylinder come individually packed or with manifold as seen in the photographs for emergency speed replacement of multiple cylinders. The Pelican® case provides ample room for up to six cylinders in addition to cutting tubes and more. Case is floatable, can be rolled on built in wheels with a telescopic pull handle, or can be manually transported via two heavy duty side handles. The lock guides are deliberately metal. The case and cylinders translates into peace of mind and a product that is truly operational when you need it.

Our oxyflame exothermic cutting tubes are called hand held particle accelerators because they melt through steel like butter with a reliable burn. When oxygen is heated via the exothermic effect to a ten-thousand degree flame. Our seamless tubes are clean, straight and without burrs for easy fit into the torch head collet. Our solid inner fuel spokes are crimped in a patented radial style so that a carburetor hole remains in the center of the tube. This carburetor hole provides additional thrust for removing molten magma from the cut kerf.

A 2" recess in the rear of the tube prevents burns into the head. The outer tube and inner fuel are precisely gauged to ensure a consistent balance of oxygen to solid material for the most reliable burn on the market. Our tubes enjoy an industry reputation for dependability. More divers are currently being trained on our marine cutting products than any other brand. Consumables are packed in heavy duty 350# wax saturated boxes for maximum shelf life.

The metal inner fuel spokes are chemically leached to remove impurities that reduce cutting efficiency. The size of the inner fuel is precisely gauged to ensure the correct spacing between fuel spokes. Seven spokes are arranged around the circumference and held in place using circular crimps. The result is a carburetor hold down the center of the cutting tube that facilitates metal removal. A two inch safety recess is maintained in the rear of the tube. This design inhibits the flame if it gets too close to the torch head. Simply put, once the flame moves past the final crimp, any remaining fuel is expended and the flame stops. We package cutting tubes in wax saturated boxes to maximize shelf life. Our boxes are 350 pound to stand up to land and marine conditions.

Our oxyflame exothermic cutting tubes will fit into most brand torches using our standard collet, including Broco®, Arcair® and Oxylance®. Some manufacturers refer to our tubes as cutting rods. We differentiate our flame tubes from our arc rods. One uses a flame process, the other an arc process.

Specify longer cables for underwater ignition and welding. Having a DC welder on hand is essential for civil defense, tactical response, emergency response, or any form of emergency repair and maintenance assignment where portability and dependable power are required.

weld

Ac welders merely convert current to DC for the majority of welding with exception of TIG. Going straight to DC eliminates transformers, rectifiers, diods and more. The result is a portable welder with size selectable batteries that welds with minimal sticking. The polarity is reversed by switching the cables.

DC advantages:

  • Easier stages.
  • Fewer arc outages and sticking
  • Less spatter for better looking welds
  • Easier vertical and overhead welding.
  • Smoother arc by virtue of direct flow current.
  • DC reverse polarity (electrode positive) provides 10 percent more penetration at a given amperage than AC.
  • DC straight polarity (electrode negative) welds thinner metals better.

How big a machine do I need?

  • Most welding is done at currents lower than 200 amps.
  • Small, portable welders suffice for most repairs.
  • Large welders accommodate large electrodes.
  • Multiple small welds are superior to single large welds.
  • Thick materials can be welded by beveling the edges.
  • Thick materials can be fused by using multiple beads.
  • To change polarity reverse the red and black plugs.

What electrodes do I need?

  • Small 3/32" electrodes are excellent for multiple passes.
  • 6010, 6011, 6013, 7018 and 7024 are common electrodes.
  • Flux characteristics influence speed, penetration and more.
  • 6010 electrodes penetrate deeper than 6013 electrodes.
  • 7018 yields better appearance, penetration and strength.
  • Root passes use 6010 rod with cap beads using 7018.
  • 7024 rods are "drag rods" capable of automatically maintaining the correct arc length due to thick flux, making it a favorite among repair and maintenance professionals.

MAG9003™ three cylinder amphibian cutting system.

Introducing a pioneering breakthrough and the first of its kind. Over an hour of underwater cutting and almost two hours of land cutting from a single portable system. Remote control is the key. Operators control ignition via a button switch atop the ground clamp for the ultimate multi-tasking asset capable of cutting, gouging, piercing and even welding. Statistically, most underwater repairs are performed in less than twenty feet of water which falls well within the reach of the fifty foot of umbilical that ships with the system. As part of its integrated design, the new portable system not only performs from a solid platform, it also suffices as a flotation device in emergency circumstances.

Use the system for underwater repair, maintenance, salvage and scrap. For utility, the cylinders boast standard CGA540 fill valves for rapid filling at standard oxygen service locations. Each system ships completely operational once the oxygen cylinders are filled at a local welding gas supplier like Airgas or Air Liquide. Fifty cutting rods are included with the system which provide a significant cutting yield. For those situations when a welding machine is not practical, the unit can also double as a spot welder. Repair shafts, spot weld plates, fabricate brackets and much more.

A precision brass manifold connects all three cylinders for single use or multiple cylinder use, yielding over an hour of cutting. A remote solenoid activated ignition switch allows operator to close a topside switch for underwater ignition of flame cutting tubes. The 24 volt ignition boasts two Odyssey® 26 amp dry cell batteries for efficient underwater igniton. A new feature is the button switch atop the ground clamp. If a suitable ground is not found on the work material, a scratch plate a top the ground allows for efficient ignition. The entire unit is encased in a Pelican® case that can be carried or rolled to the work area.
